Macadamia, which belongs to the Proteaceae family, contains four species, Macadamia integrifolia, M. tetraphylla, M. ternifolia, and M. jansenii. Macadamia is one of the most important nut crops in the world. So far, China has the largest plantation area for macadamia in the world, with 245,000 ha as recorded in 2019.
